As security dynamics in the Indo-Pacific region continue to evolve, the DSEI Japan Conference brings together senior government and military leaders in the region to discuss shared emerging threats and opportunities arising from technological advancements. 

For 2025 edition, to ensure the programme was tailored to our audience's challenges, it was shaped by the Executive Committee in close collaboration with Acquisition, Technology & Logistics Agency (ATLA). Their combined expertise from industry, government and the military ensured the conference content to address the  most pressing defence priorities in the Indo-Pacific region.  

DSEI Japan 2025 Conference Theme

The DSEI Japan 2025 Conference focused on the theme of “Strengthening Indo-Pacific security through advanced Technology”, to address the region's key defence priorities. This was complemented by two seminar theatres offering practical solutions in the following subthemes: supply chain, operational readiness, and technology innovation.  

Sessions were presented in both Japanese and English, with dual translation available.

Operational Readiness

Military effectiveness depends on the ability to anticipate and respond to threats with speed and precision. This sub-theme will examine key challenges and best frameworks for enhanced military operations, logistics and support.  It will also outline the evolving technology requirements within military, highlighting areas where industry solutions can drive progress and contribute to mission success.

Technology Innovation

As the arms race intensifies in the Indo-Pacific region, it staying ahead through advanced technologies is crucial. The discussions will focus on the latest solutions and applications of artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, cybersecurity, and space-based capabilities and others. It will also explore how to effectively tap into the expertise of small and medium-sized enterprise (SMEs), non-traditional suppliers, and research and innovation (R&D) initiatives to drive innovation and create new solutions for defence challenges.

Supply Chain

Defence operations depend on strong, adaptable supply chains that can withstand global disruptions. These sessions will cover best practices to improve supply chain resilience, both domestically and internationally, while also streamlining the process of identifying and securing new technologies. Additionally, they will explore how to overcome logistical challenges in entering new markets a ensure compliance with international standards.
