ヴァッカーロ マイケル (Mr Michael VACCARO)
ヴァッカーロ氏は2024年1月に国務次官補代理(防衛取引管理)として就任し、防衛品・役務の輸出が米国安全保障・外交政策を進めるよう貿易取引管理局と国際武器取引規則 を取り締まる。
米国務省に入省する前は米国防省で筆頭次官補代理(防衛産業基盤政策)(2022-2024) と国際装備協力課長 (2019-2022)を務めた。国防省では国家安全保障上に必要な物資の供給を確保するため米国防衛産業基盤の発展・維持する当局の取り組みを指導・支持し続けた。防衛省就任前 (2013-2019) は米国商務省産業安全保障局で防衛取引、産業基盤、外資等を担当した。
Mr. Vaccaro assumed the position of Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Defense Trade Controls in January 2024, where he oversees the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations, ensuring that U.S. commercial exports of defense articles and defense services advance U.S. national security and foreign policy objectives.
Mr. Vaccaro joined the State Department from the Department of Defense (DoD) where he served as the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Industrial Base Policy (2022-2024) and as the Director for International Armaments Cooperation (2019-2022). In these roles, he led and supported DoD’s efforts to develop and maintain the U.S. defense industrial base to ensure a secure supply of materials critical to national security. Prior to his assignment to the DoD, Mr. Vaccaro served in leadership positions the Bureau of Industry and Security in the U.S. Department of Commerce (2013-2019) where he was responsible for defense trade, industrial base, and foreign investment issues.
