Atsushi Ikegami is a Senior Research Fellow at the National Security Institute of Fujitsu Defense & National Security and a Visiting Fellow at the Japan Defense Technology Foundation. His research focuses on how emerging technologies—particularly autonomous weapons and AI—affect nuclear deterrence, arms control, and the future of military operations.

 He holds a Master of Public Administration from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and a Bachelor of Economics from Keio University. His work has appeared in Defense Technology Journal, Newsweek Japan, and Sankei Shimbun, and he has given invited talks at the Japan Institute of International Affairs, Waseda University, and Keio University–JASDF forums.
