The world is undergoing a geopolitical transformation, a process that has been accelerated by Russia's invasion of Ukraine. While parts of this transition look familiar, looks can be and are deceiving. The impact of the Ukraine war on defense and deterrence in particular are profound -- and especially poorly understood. I hope to clarify and project some of the most important elements of this evolution.
